Sustainability and Environment
Our Sustainability Policy
As a supplier and manufacturer of quality sports flooring and walling products, DYNAMIK is fully committed to a policy of sustainability, including its three pillars – environmental, economic and social. A good policy helps to guarantee the planet’s integrity and improve the quality of life and therefore go hand in hand with our commitment to providing a fun and exciting sporting environment.
Sustainability is a team effort and involves all our staff, suppliers and sub-contractors. It’s importance is one of our core strategies and is emphasised to our whole team.
With the challenges ahead of us due to climate change and resource scarcity, the design of our products are constantly evolving and hence why sustainability is key to our corporate vision.
We look at our internal processes and those of our suppliers to ensure they take sustainability seriously. We therefore assess the following items:
PEFC
This certification is given to provide proof that timber can be tracked through the entire product supply chain – called the “chain of custody” – so from a certified sustainably managed forest all the way through to the final product.
FSC®
The FSC® trademark identifies products that contain timber from sustainably managed forests.
ISO 14001
This internationally agreed standard sets out the requirements for an environmental management system. It helps organisations improve their environmental performance through more efficient use of resources and reduction of waste.
BREEAM
(Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method)
BREEAM is a long-established method of assessing, rating and certifying the sustainability of buildings. We aim to ensure our products assist in facilities achieving good BREEAM ratings.
Reuse and Recycling
Reuse and recycling of used products assists in waste reduction and enables old products to commence a new life cycle.
Harmful Substances
There are many harmful substances that can be used in the manufacturing process but we seek to avoid these. We seek to ensure that all raw materials are REACH compliant (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals). Products should also be free from formaldehyde and minimise emissions from VOC’s (Volatile Organic Compounds).
Packaging
We continually review the packaging of our products to not only reduce the amount of materials used, but also to use more recycled content.
Transport
We aim to reduce the level of pollution arising from transportation in two ways. Firstly, we use the least number of vehicles possible to transport products by ensuring vehicles are at maximum capacity. Secondly, we ensure vehicles travel the minimal distance possible and therefore seek to deliver materials direct from our manufacturers to project sites.
We have embraced the use of hybrid and electric powered vehicles within our fleet.
