DYNAMIK Awarded Another Sports Arena for 2023

DYNAMIK were awarded by Serco Leisure, the stadium operators and WheelPower, the National charity for wheelchair sport, the prestigious contract to refurbish the iconic Stoke Mandeville Stadium, birthplace of the Paralympic movement and the National Centre for Disability Sport.

 DYNAMIK managed the contract from start to finish, uplifting the old sprung timber flooring and replacing it with the latest DYNAMIK sprung court. 

The court is finished in a premium engineered oak surface which provides a smooth, gap free finish making it ideal for all wheelchair sports that rely on these playing surfaces for perfect rolling resistance and chair interaction. The DYNAMIK Oak is very stable by nature and being engineered, creates an environment that requires less maintenance due to less board movement or “cupping and curling”, as those in the trade call it. Wheelchair users often describe “cupping and curling” when using old timber floors, simply as  “peaks and troughs” which are visible between each board and inhibits play and a smooth user experience.

The DYNAMIK Oak comes factory pre-sealed and has very high resistance to abrasion and wear, and also maintains slip resistance for an extended period compared to the old timber surface, which it replaced.

DYNAMIK have a passion for understanding the interaction between sports surfaces and the end user and very much understood the client’s remit for the new sports hall flooring and were able to demonstrate this during the tender process.
